Dear Members,
The Y and Broken Hill City Council are delighted to announce Broken Hill Aquatic Centre will be reopening on Monday, June 15 with access to the Indoor 25m and Hydrotherapy pools, as well as the Aquatic Centre gym.
Details on programs, patronage per area and booking requirements will be detailed next week for all members once we confirm further detail around the reopening restrictions announced by the NSW Government this week.
Broken Hill’s Mayor, Darriea Turley said: “It's great to see the Y taking all the appropriate precautions to reopen the Aquatic Centre for public use. It's an important community asset and I'm sure there will be plenty of people happy to see it return to operation.”
Area Manager for the Y NSW, Shane Simmons said the wait was over and preparations are well underway. “From next week our teams will be commence final preparations to reopen our Aquatic Centres from 6am on Monday 15 June. Our team will work tirelessly to prepare the centre in the new COVID world and patrons can rest assured that their safety is our highest priority. We will be asking our customers to understand that our business as usual approach has changed and we will be communicating further next week around our booking process to access the centre. We will have further information around the opening of the Integrated Wellness Centre on Chloride Street early next week”.
Please be assured our reopening will be in line with all COVID-safe cleaning regulations and government guidelines to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our customers.
