TRU Body Composition Assessments at YMCA Caringbah

Tru Body Composition Analysers are coming to YMCA Caringbah on October 20!

Come down and receive your precise body composition assessment in minutes.

What is InBody?

InBody Body Composition Analyser is a medically graded, TGA approved Body Composition Analyser. It provides you with a blueprint of your body, with over 40 research parameters to help you track and monitor your progress and as a means to show you if your training, diet and lifestyle are getting you closer to your goals.

What will it tell me?

The machine provides a comprehensive results sheet, outlining your body fat mass, body fat %, muscle mass, where you hold your muscle mass, where you hold your body fat, visceral fat level and water balance.

How accurate is InBody?

It is as accurate as the original DEXA machine, with a reproducibility rate of 98.4%. This means you will get the same result with less than 1% discrepancy over a period of time.

How long does it take?

InBody scan only takes 60-90 seconds per individual. But as we provide a comprehensive results sheet, we spend time after each scan with you to help you understand and interpret the results, which may take up to 5 minutes.

How does it work?

InBody uses patented bio-electrical impedance (with no estimations) and is completely safe. Picture this, you have 4 different trays, one with sand, one with water, one with oil and another with mud. If you were to run your hand through each of these trays, you would expect a different resistance from each. This is the same with each kind of cell in your body, and based on that resistance, we are able to map out your body composition. There is no radiation involved whatsoever.

How safe is it?

Completely safe as no radiation is used. If you have a pacemaker or are pregnant, we recommend you do not use the machine.

How much is it?

  • $40 per scan for Members
  • $50 per scan for Casual guests
  • OR Why not join the Lean Mean 21 Fitness Challange and your scan is FREE!

I just finished training, can I have a scan?

We do require you to wait at least 15 minutes to give your body ample time to cool down and your heart rate to come down. The reason for this is because the heat given off by your body will affect the results.
