We welcome the three step plan for the gradual lifting of COViD-19 restrictions that Prime Minister, Scott Morrison, announced late last week.
As I’m sure you can appreciate we are keen to welcome you back to Hawkesbury Oasis as soon as possible, however we are able to confirm that we will not be reopening during stage one of the relaxation of restrictions which allows 10 people to be permitted in outdoor pools.
As such your membership will remain suspended until further notice.
We will continue to monitor and review situation as restrictions are further eased to determine the optimum time to reopen.
While the NSW and ACT Governments have begun to relax restrictions in line with step oneof the plan, there are a number of factors that will determine when we are able to reopen Hawkesbury Oasis.
Additional considerations include:
- the commercial viability of running services at a significantly reduced capacity
- our ability to provide fair and equitable access to the services that we are able to
- provide the availability of sufficient quantities of essential supplies such as hand sanitiser
- the time it takes to recommission facilities such as pools following a closure
- the renovations and repairs currently underway at the site
A program of works was developed to take advantage of the NSW Government’s COVID-19 restrictions to close indoor pools. This provided Council with the opportunity to empty the indoor pool and undertake renovations and repair works to the pool and the facility.
We are currently working closely with Hawkesbury Council to determine the earliest stage that we will be able to open our doors and how we can best deliver programs and services to provide a COViD-19 safe environment.
We thank you for your understanding and patience.
