Safe Summer @ the YMCA

Pool safety. Everyone's responsibility.

Lifeguards might do the rescuing but parents and carers are partners in pool safety. If you're at the pool with children in your care, you need to supervise them properly.

Drowning can happen in silence. Your eyes are your best tools in making sure someone is safe in the water.

What to look for:

  • people struggling to keep their head above water
  • people below the water.

If you think someone’s in trouble – let a lifeguard know straight away!
