Updated Conditions of Entry
Everyone is welcome back at the Y. We do ask that you refer to our revised Covid conditions of entry below before you make your way back to our centres as there is important information about government guidance on vaccinations for our customers.
NSW - revised Conditions of Entry
ACT - revised Conditions of Entry
To help minimise congestion at the entrance, please allow additional time before your class or session, and be prepared with the below items, each time you arrive at the centre.
- Check In: scan the QR code on entry, or speak to our friendly reception team for assistance
- Vaccination: everyone aged 16 or over entering our NSW centres should be prepared to show proof of vaccination (or valid exemption) on arrival. View accepted forms of proof. For guidance on how to download your digital Covid vaccination certificate, visit the Services Australia website.
- Membership Card: remember to also show or scan your Y membership card on entry!
- Mask: please wear your mask at all times (unless an exemption applies).
Each individual can now link their COVID-19 digital certificate to their Services NSW app, allowing you to show reception your check-in and vaccination status simultaneously. Click here for instructions on how to link.
It is mandatory for all Y employees working at a New South Wales centre to be vaccinated. We know that in regional New South Wales, it’s been hard for people to access vaccinations. Our teams will return to work at our centres in regions with at least one jab and a commitment to be double dosed as soon as possible.
Please refer to the table below for details on opening times and specific information on what programs are available with detailed restrictions as this may vary by location.
The Y will announce any changes to our programming and services as restrictions ease in the coming months.
Keeping COVIDSafe
The Y is committed to keeping everyone healthy and safe. We’re doing our bit to contain the spread of COVID-19 and to ensure that we can remain open to keep you on track with your health, fitness and wellness goals. We fulfil this commitment by doing the following:
- All Y NSW employees must be vaccinated against COVID-19.
- We will ensure that everyone entering a Y office, recreation centre, aquatic centre or gymnastics club must check in using the Service NSW QR code and produce a record of their COVID-19 vaccination status or medical exemption if they are over the age of 16.
- All our recreation and aquatic centres, and our gymnastics clubs, have COVIDSafe plans.
- All our people are trained in COVID safe practices.
- We comply with mask wearing stipulations.
- We clean our sites in accordance with our COVIDSafe plans and public health recommendations.
- We cap class sizes and the number of people allowed at our centres, in groups and in our pools so that we comply with public health orders. Book into Group Fitness Classes to secure your spot
- We support our teams to be upfront if they are feeling unwell, to go and get tested and not return to work until they have a negative test result.
- We maintain physical distancing in accordance with public health orders. We ask our people and our customers to do the same, and we make sure it’s clear (through signage, social media communication, regular email communication and this website) to everyone coming to a Y that this is the expectation.
- We’re nice about reminding people when it comes to the rules on COVID-19. We do reserve the right, however, that if you’re not nice back or if you refuse to comply that we ask you to leave. We need to keep everyone safe and healthy – that’s our job.
- We communicate to Y Members and the community regularly about how and when regulations change, including when it comes to invoicing our Members.
- We will be activating swift shutdown procedures in the event that there is a COVID-19 infection at one of our centres and communicating with our customers and partners as a matter of urgency and on the advice of NSW Health.
Y Be Kind?
Because…after a long lockdown, we all need to be kind to ourselves, each other and our wellbeing.
The above listed requirements are in place to ensure that we keep everyone safe and healthy, and so we can continue to be open. We may need to courteously provide additional guidance or call for people to observe the regulations in place. All that we ask, is that you please be kind – to our people and to each other. We thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding.
