Voices for Change Fundraising and Networking Event

17 Jan 2025 - EventsYouth

You're invited to join us for an unforgettable night of inspiration and unity, drinks and canapes on Tuesday 25 March 2025, where we shine a spotlight on three of the Y NSW's remarkable programs - Youth Parliament, Gymnastics and Alternative Suspension.

Hosted by Jacinta Parsons, broadcaster, writer and public speaker, Voices for Change is an opportunity for us to come together to celebrate and connect, with a shared focus on the meaningful work the Y NSW is doing to positively impact the lives of children and young people. You’ll hear inspiring first-hand stories from individuals whose lives have been transformed by these incredible programs. These stories will give you a powerful glimpse into the heart of our work and the tangible difference we are making every day in the communities we serve.

This is not just an event—it is a chance for you to stand alongside the Y NSW as we continue to foster positive change, cultivate resilience, and provide vital opportunities for children and young people. Your presence and support will help us expand our reach and deepen the impact of our programs!

Youth Parliament

Youth Parliament is the Y NSW’s flagship youth leadership and engagement program that is recognised as an incredible opportunity for young people to advocate, grow skills and make life-long connections. With a focus on leadership, the program enables high school students in years 10 to 12 to build confidence, engage with civic leadership, policy development, and democratic parliamentary debate. Among the many highlights of the program for participants is a mock sitting week in NSW Parliament House.

Your donations will go toward supporting young people to participate in the program, and to aid in ensuring that young people experiencing marginalisation and disadvantage are able to access the program regardless of their circumstances.

Gymnastics Programs

The Y NSW is one of the largest providers of gymnastics training in NSW with over 5,000 weekly participants. Across our award-winning centres in Bankstown, Penrith, Epping, St Ives and Caringbah, our experienced coaches implement the Australian Gymnastics curriculum for a wide range of ages and abilities.

From KinderGym classes to our competitive program, participants benefit by building strength, flexibility, coordination and confidence. We proudly provide GymAbility classes for people living with disability. Additionally, we offer a mentoring program to support gymnasts to obtain coaching accreditation. Your donation will go towards enabling families facing financial hardship to build confidence and life skills from gymnastics.

Alternative Suspension

The Alternative Suspension program supports students aged 12 to 18 who are suspended from school or at risk by providing them with support to turn their lives around, return to school and succeed.

With more than 20 successful years of delivery in Canada and Europe, this life-changing program transforms the student’s suspension period away from school into a positive experience, fostering personal development and autonomy. By putting students who are disengaged in an environment that promotes self-worth, goal setting, the acquisition of social skills and community respect, the program seeks to increase its participants’ resilience and ability to persevere in education or alternative training pathways. Your donation will go towards supporting the program and ensuring that young people at risk are able to access its life-changing benefits.

Communities thrive when they come together. Be part of this incredible celebration of impact, community spirit and possibility, where your support can make a meaningful difference.
