YMCA NSW is delighted to have been appointed by UNSW Sydney to manage the UNSW Fitness & Aquatic Centre for another three years.
The two organisations entered into a new management agreement on 1 January 2019.
YMCA NSW CEO Susannah Le Bron said: “YMCA NSW values our strong partnership with UNSW and we thank them for the opportunity to continue to manage this important facility and support the fantastic and vibrant community here through our programs and services.
“We have a proven track record of successfully managing UNSW Fitness & Aquatic Centre since 2013, in addition to operating 21 other recreation centres across NSW and the ACT. YMCA NSW is best placed to provide more high quality, innovative programs and the great customer experience that the UNSW community expects now and into the future."
UNSW’s Director of Business & Campus Services, Stephen Wong, added: “UNSW recognises the importance of building campus communities that are centred around wellbeing, active participation and healthier lifestyles. We are delighted to further our strong business partnering relationship with YMCA NSW to deliver enhanced products, customer service and equipment.”
The agreement will bring a host of benefits for customers of the Centre with improvements including:
• Reconfiguration and renovation of the gym floor and associated spaces
• New lockers in both the corridors and change rooms
• More than $400,000 worth of brand new strength and cardio equipment
• Continuity and stability of management
• Enhanced service standards
• New and updated signage on the exterior of the building
• Lighting upgrades including installation of brighter and more sustainable LED fittings.
Many of these changes will be implemented in the first few months of this year.
