Getting to know our people!
Denise has been teaching swimming and water safety for over 10 years. She first became interested in aquatic education when she was in the army. Being an ex paramedic and working with injured soliders at the rehabilitation centre provided her with the desire to ensure that everyone has access to swimming lessons and is exposed to the water.
She is especially passionate about teaching swimming to special needs children and loves being able to see people achieve. One mother was thrillled with the progress her son was making in swimming lessons with Denise and told her, "He is now swimming for his school team and instead of people looking down at him, they are looking up at him".
Her love of swimming shines through in her classes and her students love attending their weekly lessons.
